“ I'm ashamed to say that this is my first time eating food, besides gelato, at Dolce Amici. The entire aesthetic when walking in the front door is transformative. The outdoor space is charming and transports you to Southeastern Europe with their attention to detail and decorative themes. Every morsel of food was exquisite, quality prepared, and absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend and we will be back. ”
“ I stopped in for a coffee to go. The interior was very pleasant and nearly every seat was full with happy customers for a winter Sunday lunch. Even with all of the guests, the sound level was low and pleasant. The gal who helped me was pleasant and relaxed and I got to see the smiling owner come out of the kitchen. “ This family-owned cafe and bistro is an amazing addition to a growing Main St. The indoor decor is modern and inviting. There is also outdoor seating under a whimsical cover of colorful, hanging umbrellas. Everything that I tasted is freshly made and tasty. The menu is simple and changes seasonally. Many ingredients seemed to be sourced locally. Even the beer is from Maine breweries. On this visit, I had a z'tar panini. I also sampled the dishes ordered by other people in my group: Mediterranean salad, potato leek soup, and pasta. They are happy to made dietary adjustments, as needed, even making a very simple pasta dish for my picky kids. The house made gelato is the star of the show. It is hard to choose one flavor. I got a gelato flight that included strawberry basil, lemon shortbread and key lime pie flavors beautifully presented in mini martini glasses. The lemon shortbread was my favorite. Service was friendly and attentive. Food arrived quickly and we weren't rushed to leave. I'll definitely be returning to try dinner and cocktails or one of their special Sunday brunches! ”

Everyone was so nice, attentive, and displayed excellent communication skills among restaurant goers. They have a small food menu, but we were all able to find something that we liked. Gelato and drinks were a little expensive but worth it. ”

We stopped in for gelato once to try it out and couldn’t help ourselves but come back a few more times because it was so good! We tried a dinner one night and were impressed by not only the plating but the flavors of our meals. This place is doing a great job of balancing a little bit higher end dining with being an ice cream place. It works, typical casual Maine place with a touch of class. ”
